This report looks at two factors of population dynamics; fertility and mortality, analyzed from Census 2008. Estimates of levels, trends and differentials in fertility and childhood mortality are important both for monitoring and evaluating on-going programs and for formulating policies. The levels of infant and child mortality are viewed as indicators of the general standard of living in a society. The trends give indication of quality of life. The level of fertility is important as a measure of socioeconomic development as well as for formulating policies of socioeconomic and socio-demographic dimensions. The expectancy of life can be viewed at as a measure of quality of adult life.
