The South Sudan annual Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased 46.8% from January 2020 to January 2021. The increased was mainly driven by higher Alcoholic beverages & Tobacco.
The annual CPI increased in Juba by 93.8% and decreased in Malakal by 17.7% and increased in Wau by 34.5% from January 2020 to January 2021.
The South Sudan monthly CPI decreased by 5.1% from December 2020 to January 2021. The monthly CPI increased by 0.9% in Juba, increased by 4% in Malakal, and by 4% in Wau respectively.
